Meet the Coach:
Welcome!
I’m Jamilah Stanfield, a Transitional Life Coach and the creator of Lilies and Sparrows Life Coaching. My path began with a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from San Diego State University (2006), and over the years I’ve served in many roles, to include: marriage and family therapist, wellness coach, and peer mentor with T.A.P.S. (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors of Service-members). Through each of these experiences, one thing has remained constant: my commitment to helping others navigate life’s transitions with clarity and compassion.
Most of us plan for our careers, families, and retirement—but rarely for one of the most meaningful transitions of all: our final farewell in the “physical world.” I experienced the passing of many loved ones, and because of those experiences, I know that Transitional Life Planning is extremely important. I realized that there are major differences when someone didn’t have a Transitional Life Plan (TLP) for their loved ones, compared to those who did have a plan for how they wanted their last “celebration of life” to be honored.
It doesn’t matter what your health status is, or your age—a TLP can be one of the most gracious gifts you can give another person. This process is not only about decisions and logistics—it’s about peace of mind, easing the burden on loved ones, and ensuring that your life is honored as you wish.
Together, we’ll create a Transitional Life Plan that provides comfort, clarity, and direction for those you love. With a safe and supportive space, I’ll be your sounding board as you make intentional choices now—leaving behind the gift of guidance, love, and legacy.
What is a Transitional Life Coach?
A Transitional Life Coach guides individuals through various changes in their lives. One of the types of Transitional Life Planning that I (Jamilah Stanfield) specializes in involves one of life’s most significant transitions: planning for one’s own “Final Farewell” (also referred to as a funeral or celebration of life). Regardless of one’s age or health status, having a Transitional Life Plan is beneficial for the person AND for their loved ones, especially when formally created with a Life Coach. This type of coaching helps you make intentional choices about your final farewell—your wishes, values, and legacy—so that your loved ones are supported, your life is honored, and your voice is clearly expressed. It’s not just about logistics; it’s about creating peace of mind, meaning, and empowerment for both you and those you care about.
As a Transitional Life Coach, I guide people in creating a plan for their eventual, UNKOWN DATE of passing that reflects their values, story, and legacy.
NOTE: I, Jamilah Stanfield, do not assist anyone in making any plans for “specific dates” OR “intentions” of transitioning (i.e., suicide). Transitional Life Plans are ONLY meant for UNKNOWN DATES of transitioning.
